Prof.dr. Romke van der Veen

Romke van der Veen (1958) has been professor of Sociology of Work and Organization at Erasmus University Rotterdam, the Netherlands since 2004. His research focuses on changing welfare states, in particular on changes in the administration and implementation of labor market policy, social security, health care and social policies in general.

From 1996 to 2004 he was professor of public Administration at Twente University, the Netherlands. Before 1996, he worked from 1993 on as an associate professor of General Social Science at the Centre for Policy Science and Management of the University of Utrecht, the Netherlands, and from 1990 to 1993 as an associate professor of Public Administration at Leiden University, the Netherlands.

From 1986 to 1990 he was an assistant professor at the department of Sociology and research assistant at the research institute Law and Society of the Faculty of Law, both at Leiden University, the Netherlands.
