Jeroen Postma (1982) is an assistant professor at the institute of Health Policy & Management at Erasmus University Rotterdam. He obtained his doctorate in June 2015 with a thesis on scale of healthcare organizations (entitled ‘Scaling Care’), including qualitative and quantitative research on mergers, professional and organizational work in long-term care, media discourse and evidence-based policy making. He obtained a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (Human Resource Management) from Erasmus University Rotterdam in 2006.
After finishing his Master’s thesis on the work of professionals in nursing homes, Postma worked as an advisor on organizational and personnel affairs for a long-term care organization in Rotterdam. In 2009, he moved to Dutch consultancy firm BMC and started with his PhD-research. As a consultant, Jeroen has led and participated in projects for healthcare organizations and the Ministry of Health. The projects included developing business cases, conducting policy evaluations and advising on organizational strategy.
