Prof. dr. Kim Putters

Kim Putters (1973) is Director of the Netherlands Institute for Social Research¦SCP (Sociaal en Cultureel Planbureau) since June 2013. He is also part time Professor of Health Care Policy and Governance in a Changing Welfare State at the Institute of Health Policy & Management at Erasmus University Rotterdam. From 2008 to 2013 he was Professor of Health Care Management at the same Institute. He obtained his doctorate with a thesis on entrepreneurship in Dutch hospital care at the Faculty of Social Sciences. He continued his scientific research at Tilburg University (2003-2008) and Erasmus University Rotterdam (2008 - ) focusing on care policies and governance issues. He carried out research on innovations in healthcare, social entrepreneurship and neighbourhood and community projects. Since 2006 he has been involved in the evaluation and implementation of the Social Support Act (Wmo) and healthcare reforms. Kim Putters is internationally involved with the European Group of Public Administration, the International Research Symposium Public Management and the International Association of Impact Assessments. He is member of the scientific committee of the European Healthcare Management Association (EHMA). He supervises several PhD projects on these themes. Putters is senior member of the Netherlands Institute of Government (NOB/NIG).
